Young Kazakhstani designer Aydana Omarova got to present her work at the Silk Road Fashion show in London on June 18, Khabar 24 reports.
Omarova presented her new collection that adapted traditional Kazakh elements into modern style wear to the British public.
The pieces were created by Aydana Omarova's brand, especially for this show. Silk Road Fashion has been held annually in London since 2017. The current event was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and the UK.
Omarova's collection gained attention and even acclaim of the experts present at the show.
We participate in such performances and look for new talents. In my opinion, brands like Aydana Omarova Couture and OMABELLE [Omarova's other project] are demanded in foreign markets. We invite her to London Fashion Week. I have never seen such designs in the West. I like her stuff, and I even bought myself a cardigan. I am wearing it now.
Earlier, Omarova presented her designer collection in Italy and Germany. The brand has grand plans: to conquer the whole world.
We prepared a collection to show our Kazakh style, heritage, and history of our ancestors. Now the collections by Aydana Omarova Couture and OMABELLE were combined. I mixed modern style and Kazakh traditional style. I liked the result. And I am happy to present our unique outfits to the world.
Items from the designer's collection are already available to foreign fashion lovers. Besides Kazakhstan, boutiques were opened in Istanbul and Dubai. Now the company plans to expand its international presence and open a new outlet in London.
