December 6-10, the Untitled Art Miami Beach exhibition will showcase the “Semser: Umaibata, Aiqoshqar, Eleskeser” triptych by Kazakh artist Aya Shalkar as part of the Art Basel Week in Miami, USA, QazMonitor reports. Aya Shalkar is a conceptual multimedia artist, graphic designer, and model from Kazakhstan, who boasts an impressive portfolio featuring the Jaryq art project, product design studio Oneki, and collaboration with H&M.
The triptych introduces three pieces: Umaibata (Great Mother’s Blessing), Aiqoshqar (Moon-Horn), and Eleskeser (Ghost Cutter). This work is part of Aya’s larger cycle centered on Central Asian female warriors, referred to as Peri by the artist.
Crafted with precision, these blades are made using laser-cut steel, natural bone, and brass, with each piece being meticulously hand-ground.
“So happy and grateful for this opportunity, I want to thank everyone who has been supporting this journey from the beginning. Things in the @worldofperi are only about to unfold…" Aya Shalkar shares on her Instagram page.
