American pay television network HBO picked up the Kazakh comedy flick with a touch of thriller, 'Sweetie, You Won't Believe It', QazMonitor reports.
The Art Dealers film studio announced on their Instagram that this marks the first domestic movie to be released on American premium television, opening up yet another avenue for foreign audiences to get acquainted with modern Kazakh cinema.
Starting with a corny montage of a young married couple awaiting their first child, 'Sweetie, You Won't Believe It' follows Dastan, who becomes fed up with constant quarrels with his wife and decides to run away from his responsibilities for a day. Little does he know that what began as a simple fishing trip with friends will quickly devolve into a series of unforeseen and inexplicable events, involving guns, cold weapons, and trash humor.
