On July 22-23, the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona hosted the international art project, The World Painting, showcasing its message of cultural unity across the globe, QazMonitor reports.

Visitors at the Spanish venue were immersed in a mosaic of unique fragments, created and observed by a myriad of people from all walks of life. Ranging from tourists at Dubai Expo 2020, where the project was first unveiled, to famous personalities, including Hollywood actors, Grammy-awarded musicians, world-class athletes, and public and political figures. All were captivated by an art project painted by over two thousand people, which set a Guinness World Record as the largest-scale canvas ever created.

In Barcelona, the project once again demonstrated its symbolic significance as the honorary consul of Israel in Barcelona, Jose Antonio Sanchez-Molina Rubin, made a stroke on the canvas, passing the brush to his colleague Sandra Jabalquinto, the head of the Department of International Relations at the Barcelona City Hall. Lastly, the brush was handed over to the honorary consul of Kazakhstan in Barcelona, Rinat Dyusembayev.

Each adding their unique touch, together they painted a sign of their country’s diplomatic accord. Following the ceremony by the canvas, all guests enjoyed an enchanting chamber concert by the Kazakh instrumental ensemble, FORTE TRIO.
