The trail cameras installed along the Trans-Ili Alatau ridge at the Almaty state reserve caught roving herds of red deer, QazMonitor reports.

In footage captured at various locations, including the Right, Left, and Middle Talgar gorges, the Monakhov gorge, Logunov and Karabastau tracts, the Maly Klyuch river, and at an altitude of 3,400 meters above sea level in the Scythian Valley, herds of red deer can be seen grazing undisturbed in the wild.

About 75 specimens were spotted within the territory of the reserve, and as seen in the footage, the ungulates are most active at dawn and dusk.
