“Spartacus”

The Third Serville War or Gladiator War was the last of the slave rebellions that shook the Roman Republic and the only one to directly threaten its existence. Though unsuccessful, the tale of Spartacus, a free man turned slave, inspired numerous artists throughout the millennia as the symbol of the struggle for freedom.
