Ready4Trade free business courses have been launched in Astana at the Hilton Garden Inn today, QazMonitor reports citing the press service of the Delegation of the European Union.

The Ready4Trade Central Asia Curriculum is a four-year project funded by the European Union, with the goal of ensuring a stable learning environment for small and medium business communities in Kazakhstan.

The project provides free educational courses with topics ranging from international trade rules to export procedures, transit routes, quality and conformity standards, and specific European Union market requirements.

QazTrade Academy, an online platform launched by the Ministry of Trade and Integration, will deliver the curriculum in both online and in person format. The training focuses on specific challenges faced by exporters in Central Asia.

Head of Cooperation of EU Delegation to Kazakhstan Johannes Baur noted that, among Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan is taking the lead in implementing European and international trade and educational standards.

Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev added that one of the key elements in increasing non-commodity exports is to improve the qualifications of Kazakh entrepreneurs and stimulate the export orientation of their production. He also believes that Ready4Trade project will provide the basics of cross-border trade and export features.

The curriculum has been developed by the International Trade Centre, a joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations.
