Stokson, a large Polish confectionery business, plans to launch a manufacturing plant in Nur-Sultan, QazMonitor reports with reference to Kazakh Invest.

The project is estimated to be worth 5 million euros and to create more than 100 jobs. Its food products will be supplied to the domestic market as well as neighboring countries.

Stokson's founders Henryk and Mateusz Stoklosa believe that opening a production plant in Kazakhstan will have a positive impact on the country’s economy, and also play an important role in expanding the company's representation in global markets as its first overseas investment project.

For 30 years, the Polish family-owned business has exported confectionery goods to more than 40 countries.

"We are glad to have chosen Kazakhstan as the location for our first foreign production plant. We are one of the leading suppliers of confectionary products among the EU countries, and, thanks to the launch of our factory in your country, we plan to enter the markets of Central Asia, the CIS, and the Caucasus,” said Henrik Stoklosa.

Ardak Zebeshev, chair of the Investment Committee under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, said the project represents Kazakhstan’s interest in attracting foreign investment and developing the production sector of the economy, so it will receive full support from the Committee and the national fund Kazakh Invest.

The project is scheduled to be launched in 2023.

As part of the visit program, Stokson representatives are expected to meet with the mayor of Nur-Sultan and the heads of construction companies and the banking sector.
