Sharp Rise of Russian Companies in Kazakhstan

The investment of the Russian capital rose up by 36%

The Bureau of National Statistics reveals an increase of 36% of the total number of legal entities and branches with Russian participation from March 1 to August 1, 2022, QazMonitor reports citing Azattyq Rýhy.

7,946 organizations were registered on March 1, while August 1 saw an increase up to 10,804 registered organizations.

In the information and communication sector, the number of enterprises increased by 170.5% to amount to 863 on August 1. Professional, scientific, and technical activities also experienced a rise in investment from Russia to about 960 enterprises (+69.9%), creating a tie-in with the Russian capital. In the education sphere, the number increased by 68% to 163 enterprises.

At the same time, wholesale and retail trade, plus car and motorcycle repair grew by 35.1%. The transportation and warehouse industry increased by 26.2%. Administrative and support services activities increased by 25.4%. The arts, entertainment, manufacturing, mining, quarrying, health care, and water supply showed an increase as well.

Real estate transactions, electricity, gas, steam, hot water supply, and construction experienced less growth, while some companies in the financial and insurance sector saw a decline.
