The Government conducted a regular meeting of the Economic Demonoplization Commission, chaired by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, primeminister.kz reports.

During the meeting, participants discussed the progress of demonopolization within the group of companies of Kazakhtelecom JSC, the largest telecommunication company in Kazakhstan. Specifically, they delved into the process of introducing one of the mobile operators to the competitive market, highlighting ongoing negotiations with potential foreign investors.

Overall, the anticipated outcome of this measure is an enhancement in the quality of services provided to the population, with a positive impact expected on the development of the telecommunications industry.

The Prime Minister issued instructions to expedite the efforts in this direction.

The meeting also addressed the activities of certain enterprises in the chemical industry and several others.

In November 2023, Bagdat Mussin, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, reported that in 2024 one of the mobile operators will be removed from the structure of Kazakhtelecom.
