President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Nguyen Thanh Hung, Chairman of the Board of SOVICO Group, as reported by the Akorda press service.
Greeting Nguyen Thanh Hung, the head of state warmly recalled his official visit to Vietnam in August of this year. The agreements reached during the visit provided additional impetus for the expansion of bilateral cooperation and the opening of new areas of mutually beneficial collaboration.
The President stated that Kazakhstan is prepared to create the necessary conditions for SOVICO Group's investment activities in the country.
"We welcome your business activity in Kazakhstan. I am confident that we will be able to identify areas of mutual cooperation," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In his opinion, these measures will serve as another incentive to boost business relations between Kazakhstan and Vietnam.
During the meeting, the most promising areas of cooperation were discussed, including collaboration in transportation and logistics, financial services, and the mining sector.
During their previous meeting with President Tokayev in Vietnam this August, Nguyen Thanh Hung revealed the company's intention to establish a trade and logistics hub on the territory of Kazakhstan. Additionally, it was announced that VietJet Air, a low-cost airline affiliated with the SOVICO Group, plans to expand the number of flights to Kazakhstan.
SOVICO Group is one of the largest diversified conglomerates in Vietnam, specializing in the energy, construction, banking and finance, and aviation sectors. In 2022, the company's total revenue amounted to $20.6 billion.
