The first batch of domestic goods featured on the Kazakhstan National Pavilion page on the Chinese marketplace Joybuy was sold out in record time, QazMonitor reports citing the Telegram channel of the ministry of trade and integration.

Kairat Torebayev, the vice minister of trade and integration, said that the pavilion’s launch was highly successful, with over 106,000 users subscribing to its market page.

"In the first hour of the National Pavilion's launch, the electronic platform JD.com received over 10,000 orders from Chinese buyers. Within that timeframe, 80% of the available goods were sold out in record time. Now, all 25 items on the marketplace are sold out," said Torebayev.

The decision to boost exports through the international marketplace Joybuy was made at the end of 2022. During the negotiations, the Chinese company Xingxing agreed to invest in the national pavilion and assumed the role of a link between domestic producers and consumers in China.

"In April, Xingxing representatives met with Kazakh producers and compiled a list of companies and products ready to be placed on the marketplace. Tea, drinks, chocolate, chocolate paste, jelly beans, caramel lollipops, halva, vegetable and safflower oil, flour, and milk powder were selected as the pilot batch for Chinese buyers. A trial shipment of food was dispatched in May," added Torebayev.

Potential buyers are showing interest in preordering flour, tea, dried camel, and mare's milk products. To connect with potential customers, the trade ministry advises domestic exporters to seek guidance on placing Kazakh goods from the trade policy development center, QazTrade. The center assists domestic companies in establishing cooperation with Chinese buyers.

JD.com, Inc is one of the biggest online retailers and tech companies in China, specializing in selling a wide range of consumer products. Currently, its marketplace has over 400 million registered users.
