During the government briefing in the upper house of parliament, Almas Aydarov, the deputy minister of foreign affairs, reported on the efforts made to attract foreign companies to Kazakhstan, QazMonitor reports.

"To date, Kazakhstan has extended invitations to 401 companies that we are interested in attracting. Currently, 67 companies have responded positively, and we are actively working with them. The relocation process has been completed for 25 companies. 38 countries are involved, mainly from Germany, the United States, Switzerland, and Japan," said Aydarov.

Among the companies that have already relocated to the country, the deputy minister mentioned American tech corporation Honeywell International, which has opened a production facility in Almaty, Chinese video-hosting service TikTok, international ride-hailing service inDrive, Australian iron ore company Fortescue Metals Group, and French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom.

Additionally, Aydarov added that Russian e-commerce company OZON has established a logistics park in Astana.

Since February 24, 2022, numerous Western companies have officially announced their withdrawal from the Russian market and have started searching for alternatives in the region.
