During the Kazakh-Afghani business forum in Kabul, an agreement was reached for Kazakhstan to establish a trade house in the city of Herat, QazMonitor reports citing the prime minister’s press service.

Serik Zhumangarin, the deputy prime minister – minister of trade and integration, led the delegation of 18 representatives of our country’s food industry exporting enterprises (flour, pasta, confectionary, beverages, dairy products) to the capital of Afghanistan. During the negotiations, the entrepreneurs signed contracts worth $4 million on supplying flour to Afghanistan.

In addition, the parties also outlined key functions of the proposed trade house. It’s supposed to increase trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan and develop interregional trade and economic, telecommunications, and logistics links.

The house will establish a consultation center on national exports of goods and services, trade legislation, market research, and the development of guidelines for Kazakh and Afghani companies.
