Kazakhstan to Increase Supply of Mutton to Persian Gulf Countries

In 9 months of 2022, the country exported 29.7 thousand tons of meat

The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the Saudi Arabian food company Al-Reef Al-Tholathy discussed the possibility of the joint creation of the Sheep Breeding Development Fund in Kazakhstan, QazMonitor reports citing the ministry’s press service.

With the participation of Saudi Arabian entrepreneurs, the fund will facilitate the supply of Kazakh lamb and mutton to the Arab states of the Persian Gulf. It is planned to be used in the future to finance the breeding of domestic sheep.

In 9 months of 2022, Kazakhstan exported 29.7 thousand tons of meat, including 6.7 thousand tons of mutton. Currently, the country’s main importers are Uzbekistan, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.
