Airlines of Kazakhstan and Romania were given the right to perform 14 flights a week between the two countries on all types of aircraft, QazMonitor reports.

Almaz Idrisov, vice-minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development, and Bogdan Mindrescu, state secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania, held a meeting to discuss cooperation in the field of air, road, rail and sea transport.

The meeting was also attended by Talgat Lastayev, Chairman of the Committee of Civil Aviation of Romania, Nicole Stoica, General Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Romania, and Catalin Radu, General Director of JSC "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan".

As a result, the two parties agreed on continuing the launch of direct regular flights between the countries.

Previously, under the open skies regime, Romanian airline Blue Air planned to carry out flights on the route Bucharest-Nur-Sultan at the start of 2020, which was subsequently delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
